During my years as a designer/developer on the Boeing Shared Services Group (SSG) Site Services Web Team, I created and maintained employee-facing websites for local and enterprise-level organizations. At this time, many of the Intranet sites being developed were being created from scratch. I often worked with site content owners to develop their content strategy and to create or edit their subject matter into something usable and actionable. These sites and applications provided a broad range of facilities-related products and services to the approximately 160,000 employees located around the world, as well as to on-site contractors and vendors. My projects included hundreds of small- to medium-sized sites, each a part of Boeing’s complex Intranet and each required to comply with both corporate and division branding and web standards.
